You are probably very familiar with several common print sizes: 4x6, 5x7, 8x10, and so on. These are called "standard sizes." You can easily find ready-made frames to accomodate prints of these sizes. However, these sizes are not always the best options for Tami's photos.
When Tami takes a photograph on her camera, they are created at the "full frame" size. It is a ratio of 1:1.5. 4x6 is both a standard size and a full frame size. This means that when you get a 4x6 print, you are receiving the entire image as it was taken on Tami’s camera. But what happens when you want a 5x7 or 8x10? To accommodate these print sizes, parts of the image have to be cut off. On a 5x7, half of an inch is cropped out. On an 8x10, two inches are cropped out. For certain pictures, these crops work just fine. However, sometimes they cut off vital parts of the photograph. See an example here.
